Game Oracle: Cave Story (WiiWare)

In the summer when not very many games are released and I have tonnes of time to spare, I tend to go onto the Virtual Console and download a few classics. While on my Wii I’ve stocked up on the games that everyone buys like Super Mario Bros, Ocarina of Time, Super Metroid and the like, every so often I take a punt on a completely unknown game such as last year I bought Ogre Battle. A lot of the time you end up with rubbish but every so often you will buy a gem of a game and you’ll wonder how you missed it first time around. Cave Story is like one of those games...

Pretty cool review. How long would you say the game is?

It depends. I'm a pretty good gamer and I when I first played it, in December, I was under the assumption that it was coming out very soon so I rushed it and was done in around four hours. Recently I took the time to find unlockables and get all three endings and I could be done in eight hours but then you camn add to that the times I spent on Boss Rush and playing it again with Curly.
